Why go to Spaghetti Circus

 Spaghetti Circus

is a non-profit community organisation that empowers young people to achieve excellence in Circus Arts.  One of our core activities is a comprehensive training program.  Classses are inclusive and cater to a diverse range of skill levels and ages.

We have created a supportive environment where children and young people can learn and grow at their own pace.
All classes are taught through fun and play as well as encouraging team work and group participation.  Classes are delivered
with warmth and passion by our highly skilled coaches.

The beauty of circus is that there is something for everyone!  Classes include skill development in: acrobalance, handstands, tumbling, mini tramp, aerials and manipulations.  Other skills include; juggling, hoola hoops, clowning, stilts, unicycle, physical theatre and comedy.

There are many levels of particpation from social and fun to highly skilled classes for young people wishing to pursue a career in professional performance.

Community Stream
The focus of the Community Classes is to build confidence, co-ordination, motorskills, strength and flexibility through circus skills and games.   Classes are fun and lighthearted with an emphasis on building team work skills and group participation. Each session begins with a warm up and games and finishes with a cool down.

Community Show
An essential and exciting part of the childrens’ training is the annual Community Show held in the Training Shed every December.  The Show provides an  opportunity  for families, friends and peers to witness and acknowledge skills learnt.

There are opportunities for participants who want to train more extensively to progress from the classes within the Community Stream into Advanced Classes.

Community Stream

  • 2-5 year olds
  • 5-7 year olds
  • 8-10 year olds
  • 11 + Intermediate

Advanced Stream
The classes in the Advanced Stream are designed for children and young people that have demonstrated a mental and physical aptitude for circus.  The emphasis is on individual learning where particpants are encouraged to specialise.  Guest artists and industry professionals provide specialised training for the Advanced Stream participants.

A greater commitment to class attendance, rehearsals and performance is required from both children and parents.  To facilitate increased skill development more contact hours are scheduled for the Advanced Classes.

Spaghetti Circus offers Advanced Classes at reduced rate because these groups have the ability to generate income for Spaghetti Circus from performances.

Advanced Troupe
This consists of young people who are dedicated to acheiving a higher standard in circus skills and further developing as professional performers.  The Advanced Troupe trains 2 days / week and performs at the annual Big Top Show and tours instate.
It is compulsary for the Advanced Group to attend both training days each week.

Performance Troupe
The Performance Troupe is selected from the Advanced Troupe and trains and performs more intensively.  The Troupe will perform at the Big Top Show’s as well as touring interstate and eventually internationally.  It is compulsary for the Performance Troupe to attend all 4 training days each week.

How to Enrol for 2008 Classes
