Spaghetti connects by using circus as a tool to grow our youth into strong, confident, resilient, creative, compassionate individuals. ‘Spaghettis’ learn the value of hard work, of trust and cooperation. They watch these values combine in action before their eyes, working as a team, exploring risk-taking safely whilst learning cool, daring new skills. As a result, ‘Spaghettis’ not only develop a positive sense of self, they sow respect for the community to which they belong and grow belief in what they have to contribute to it.
Dear friends, with the end of the financial year just around the corner, Spaghetti is launching its 2019 Annual Giving Campaign. All donations over $2 are tax deductible and every single dollar raised will make a difference.
We’ve set the ambitious target of raising $10,000 to fund the purchase of a small twin-cab truck that will fit kids AND equipment into the one vehicle – a revolutionary concept! This will hugely support Spaghetti’s outreach work, led tirelessly by Spaghetti founder and OAM Leonie Mills along with the dedicated core Spaghetti team. It’s about taking circus to the people – efficiently. Hours of packing multiple vehicles will be saved, not to mention on fuel and environmental costs. We know this can be done better and we’re boldly asking for your help.
Our outreach work gives Spaghettis invaluable performance and learning opportunities. In 2018 Spaghetti took shows and workshop programs out that engaged indigenous youth, pre-school and school aged young people, seniors in aged care homes and audiences of every diversity to get on board with circus as a tool to connect.
Now is also a special time to acknowledge that Spaghetti’s work over the years would not have been possible without the legendary support of our community. To all previous donors and sponsors – THANK YOU. To our funding partners – THANK YOU. To the long tradition of artists, staff, students, family supporters and volunteers who’ve fed the tribe, tended gardens, chauffeured performers, sewn costumes, ushered in audiences, crewed countless bump ins and outs and recycled our waste – THANK YOU. It’s with this kind of love and resourcefulness that Spaghetti can continue to thrive.
You can also help us by spreading the word about our Annual Giving Campaign to a wider community of people, please share and help your friends become our supporters.
Let’s celebrate the awesomeness of everything Spaghetti does (and is yet to do).
